AiM-A Abamectin VetCaps are gelatin capsules containing 10 mL of abamectin (a macrocyclic lactone in the avermectin family), and is an EPA-approved systemic insecticide for effective control of horn flies on beef cattle and non-lactating dairy cattle. The capsules are designed to be used exclusively with the VetGun and can be used in rotation with AiM-L VetCaps (lambda-cyhalothrin) as an effective in-season treatment and control of horn flies. AiM-A VetCaps offer effective in-season control when rotated with AiM-L VetCaps. Typical in-season rotation includes the use of AiM-L when flies begin to appear, followed by AiM-A when flies reach approximately 200 flies per animal, followed by AiM-L four weeks later. AiM-A VetCaps by AgriLabs are softgel capsules containing abamectin parasiticide for control of horn flies in beef and non-lactating dairy cattle over 600 lbs. VetCaps are fired from a VetGun (sold separately) at a range of 15 to 30 feet away. Capsules burst upon contact with the animal to deliver insecticide in a similar topical way to pour-on products. Simply aim, shoot and treat. Each AiM-A VetCap contains 10 ml of abamectin.
Apply one VetCap per animal over 600 lbs. When tested, VetCaps provided effective horn fly control for four weeks. Cattle are easily treated while milling around or feeding without added stress or labor. The use of a VetGun allows one person to easily apply insecticide from horseback, pickup, ATV or while on foot.
